Hello, my name is Winnie Xia. I am a postdoc at the Department of Political Science at Aarhus University. Currently, I am working on a project that focuses on communication between political elites using computational methods.
I earned my PhD at the University of Essex in 2024, where I focused on studying violent political behavior in popular mobilizations. Following my PhD, I worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at PeaceRep at the University of Edinburgh, where my work primarily involved analyzing post-conflict textual data.
In my research, I explore various areas, including protests, violent political behavior, policy learning, and gender studies. Methodologically, my primary focus is on Text/Image-as-Data, where I develop a variety of tools. Additionally, I have practical experience in designing and implementing survey experiments.
